Sometimes living in the country is not all it's cracked up to be...

So on top of all the other things that broke down and had to be replaced this summer, last week our sewer tank backed up.  Yea, ewwww!!!!!!!

He used the tiller to break up the ground. Worked beautifully.

We thought it was just a case of calling in the local "honey dipper" truck, which we did. Meanwhile, John started digging to uncover the tank cover, and Jeff arrived to help out. Ready to go for the truck.
They arrived bright and early the next day.  Nice cleaned out septic tank, but still no go on the sewer lines.  So John had to start digging it up and discovered a leak in one place where it was pooling, and a block in the line. Gloves and air masks everyone, STAT!   Dag nab it!!!!!

He started digging up the line for about 30 feet, dug it up and cut it out.  Jeff and JR came out to help (thank goodness for strong backs!) and they replaced the line.  All was well after that.  I guess it could have been worse, but I think I've had just about enough of things breaking down.

This is the incident that started John's back into spasms that evening, though.  He never stops when he has a job to do, one thing I admire about him.  But it also makes him beat his body up.  Not good.
