Spring Garden Notes, April 8, 2015 (Zucchini, Winter Squash, Melon)

Oh, my aching back!!

Yesterday we finished planting our Spring garden -- the very last plot is planted and now we get down to pulling weeds. Joy   ;-(

In Bed #4 E:

Fordhook Zucchini - Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
Round Zucchini - SeedsNow.com

 In Bed #4 F:

Sweet Meat Winter Squash - Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds  This variety has been recommended by several of the bloggers that I read as a great winter keeper with good taste.  Looking forward to trying this one.
Lakota Winter Squash - Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds

 In Bed #4 G:

Red Kuri Winter Squash - Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
Butternut Winter Squash - Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds

 In Bed #4 H:

Pink Banana Winter Squash - Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
Ananas D'Amerique A Chair Verte Melon - Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds

That's it!!! Done! The automatic waterers are all working, so all I have to do is keep the weeds down and keep pushing the compost and fertilizer.

Some of the first 4 plots in this bed have started to sprout.  This morning I spied some of the okra and cowpeas breaking the ground.
