Movie Review -- The Immortals

Made by the same producers as 300.  Okay, that sold me.  I absolutely loved 300.  But The Immortals is not 300.  Not by a long shot.
I saw some of the same camera work, slow motion comic book action, but this movie was B-L-O-O-D-Y and King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) was evil! Yuck!  The hero of the movie was Henry Cavill, playing Theseus.  He did a good job, but I guess I just was turned off by all of the bloodiness of this movie.
John didn't care for it either...he said (and I quote)..."it sucked!"
So, anyone want a free DVD?...I can't take it back.

  1. Y'all are INSANE. I liked it. It's not 300. Obviously. :P But Henry Cavill shirtless throughout? Yes please and thank you.

The story line is okay, but I don't think I'd say "it sucked!".

    Y'all are so strange. :P

  2. I wouldn’t go as far as saying this movie “sucked,” but I will say that I disliked it more than I thought I would. First seeing the previews for it way back when I thought I was in for a good treat, but now after ordering it last night in HD through my DISH subscription, I was definitely proven wrong. I didn’t mind the gore and loved looking at the shirtless men, but other than those facts and the beautiful scenery in HD, the story was pretty much lacking. If it wasn’t for the HD quality I probably wouldn’t have made it more than half way through. I watched it with a few co-workers of mine at DISH and I don’t know if it was just their presence, but I often found myself laughing at some of the ridiculous costumes. The one that drove me the craziest was Rourke’s crab claw helmet! What were they thinking? LOL
