Mimi's Summer Day Camp, Day Fifteen - South Africa Week

Well, as the saying goes, "the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry."  The trip to the zoo today had to be cancelled because Grumpy wasn't feeling well, but we had summer camp anyway, just at the house.
KT and Grumpy have been waiting and waiting to catch a small worm snake, and he found one for her on Wednesday and kept it for her to see on Thursday.  She reached right out and held the thing! I can't believe how brave she is.  She doesn't want to touch a bug, but a snake is a-okay.
I didn't have too much planned for today since we were supposed to be on a field trip, but we did make an African collar necklace, using paper plate, paints, colored straws, pasta, and yarn.
It was fun to make and she enjoyed the making it part, but she would not try it on.

We let Grumpy try to take a nap and went outside to have some watermelon, and then took a nice long swim.
Here is the batik shirt that we made on Tuesday.  I had to wash it to remove the glue, then dry it to set in the colors.  We think it turned out fantastic!

KT cartoonified! I was playing with a  new app called Pencil Sketch.

We going to India next week, and I'm looking forward to it!
