Re-siding the house....

Today the re-siding of the house began!  The siding crew arrived this morning around 9:30am, began unloading their tools, and climbed up on the ladders and began removing the old siding.  The warehouse is supposed to be bringing the new siding materials sometime around noon today.  I've been waiting so long to get this house re-sided ... the original cedar siding has done pretty well for being on the house for the past 27 years, so you can imagine how the Texas sun has worn some of it down, especially the sides that get the hottest sun. We are using Hardieplank siding, which is a cement board, pre-colored so we never have to paint again (and I'm holding them to that!)  The color we chose is Heathered Moss with Artic White trim.  Its a pale greyish green.
I'm posting up a few before pictures here for comparison!
John had to tear down the front portico so they could get to the porch siding...

The chimney is in bad shape way up there in the full sunshine.
See what I mean? Poor cedar.....

Here's one of their stock photos of a home done in Heathered Moss, just to give you an idea of what it looks like.
