Summer is setting in on the garden - while it's still producing like crazy, I can begin to see the wear and tear of the hot summer sun.  The sunflower stand is still beautiful, but the flowers are blooming and then beginning to dry on the stalk.  I'm harvesting them as I have time and putting them on drying racks for future bird meals, and possibly for human snacks, who knows!

The small gourds that I planted in the Bean Haus are developing and I'm having to cut them down as they will drag the entire plant down with their weight.  I'm drying these out in the potting shed.  Aren't they pretty, warts and all?! I hope they will last until fall so I can use them in decorating.
