I'm so EGGcited!!

I ordered our baby chicks this week!  Fifteen tiny little Bantam chicks will arrive on April 3rd, if all goes well. Yes, that's just before Easter! Yeah!
I'm using a different hatchery this time, mostly because I don't want to get the usual 25 that most hatcheries insist on shipping as their minimum order.  This place, Cackle Hatchery, will ship small orders,  you just have to pay a little more in shipping so that they are insulated well. (*crossing fingers*)
We're getting Splash Cochin Bantams (white with splashes of black), with the feathered legs.  It's been so long since we've had chickens, I'm really looking forward to it.
Hmmm...now I just have to cajole John into building that chicken house.....

    Every child should grow up with a rooster story. You don't want to rob her of that, do you? ha ha!
