I couldn't wait...

so I went ahead and planted some of these cold-hardy plants!
Spinach has gone in:

• Bloomsdale - Burpee
• Aztec Spinach - Bountiful Gardens 
• Strawberry - Baker Heirloom Seeds This might be a big mistake, as I read that this plant self-seeds, which means I may be digging these up out of the entire garden next year...but I couldn't resist it.  It sounds amazing, I mean, how often do you get to plant a seed that was first found in the monastery of German monks in 1600's Europe.

Onions have gone in:

• Dutch Red
• Yellow
• Evergreen Bunching - Ferry Morris

Leeks (American Flag) have gone in (I've never cooked with leeks...does anyone have opinions about them? Good?  Bad?), garlic is in, and one bunch of garlic chives.
