Summer Day Camp --- Day Eleven

July 15th

This week is Nature week! We started with a trip to the library, and I forgot to take my phone, so no pictures of that, darn it.
When we got back home, we went on a nature walk around Fire Ant Ranch to find small bits of nature to add to a project that we're doing after lunch today. We found feathers, rocks of various sizes and textures, tiny branches, acorns, pine cones, and other things.  KT put them all in a basket and we carried them back up to the pavilion.

After lunch, she and Grumpy mixed some concrete in a bucket.  He was using a drill with a mixer blade on it, and it was a bit sloppy, throwing water and concrete around.  When I walked over and asked KT what Grumpy was doing, she said "he's making me messy!" because she got a few drops on her.  Nothing about mixing concrete, it was all about her clothes. ha! Funny girl!

After that Grumpy poured the concrete into a plastic tub and KT pushed her bits of nature into the top of the block.  We made a stepping stone that will go into the ground out by KT's little house!  Now we just have to wait for it to dry....we'll check back in on it on Thursday.

Since it was trying to rain today, KT didn't get to swim...there was lightning and thunder in the area, so we spent the rest of the day playing Play Dough and riding her bike on the pavilion.
